La Veta Village Assisted Living Commemorates National Assisted Living Week®
Local, Senior Living Community Celebrates ‘Inspiring Generations’ During National Observance
La Veta, CO – A weeklong celebration kicks off this Sunday, September 8, and La Veta Village is joining tens of thousands of assisted living communities across the country for the festivities. National Assisted Living Week® – officially sponsored by Select Rehabilitation in 2024 – continues through Saturday, September 14, and La Veta Village honors this year’s theme, “Inspiring Generations.”
“This year’s National Assisted Living Week is a special time to recognize and thank those who truly make communities across the country a loving home,” said Elisa Ingoldby, Administrator of La Veta Village. “‘Inspiring Generations’ is a fantastic opportunity for local communities to celebrate the individuals who live and work in assisted living. It is vital to take this special time to learn more about this important part of long-term care and the important role it plays.”
Activities offered this week at La Veta Village include:
• Open House: Tuesday, September 10, 2 – 6 p.m. Refreshments served.
• Private Staff/Volunteer Appreciation Party, Wednesday Sept. 11, 6:30 p.m.
• “Senior Moments” Seminar, Friday September 13, 3 – 4 p.m. Refreshments served.
“We encourage members of the community to stay connected and visit La Veta Village social media pages for important updates during National Assisted Living Week,” said Pat Nettesheim, Board President. “Engaging with our residents is a rewarding experience and makes a tremendous difference in their lives.”
2024 National Assisted Living Week®
National Assisted Living Week was created by the National Center for Assisted Living (NCAL) in 1995 to recognize the role of assisted living in caring for America’s seniors and individuals with disabilities. The annual observance inspires assisted living communities around the country to offer a variety of events and activities to celebrate the individuals they serve, as well as to help educate members of the public about this distinct aspect of long term care.
